'Small Deeds Done'

musings & thoughts Apr 30, 2023

Peter Marshall says
"small deeds done are better than great deeds planned".

Many of us know that Yoga & mindfulness invite us into the now; this breath, this moment, this sensation.

And I am guessing that many of us feel a sense of control when we forward plan.

If I plan for greatness, then greatness shall be.

Right?

But the curveballs don't care about your future goals.

And so what Peter says really does matter;
"small deeds done are better than great deeds planned".

I love that you and I are both excited for the greatness to come.

But neither of us know what tomorrow will bring.

So let's try this...

Right now, today.
Let's do one small deed.
Let's achieve one action that will impact us, our health, in a positive way.

That could be having 1 less glass of wine tonight.
It could be a 30 minute walk before dinner.
That movement class you know will help you feel better.
Putting the phone down and connecting properly with yourself or your partner tonight.

An accumulation of small deeds done.
Again and again and again.

Because your life isn't measured by that one grand gesture.
It's the collection of really small moments, experiences and actions that equate to a good life.

If this has sparked one thing within you today, please let it be your health.
It is your everything.
It is your North Star.

And it's not just about being here for a long time.
But having your health until the very very end.
I pray that I can help you keep that mobility, agility, health & mental clarity for as damn long as possible.

I want your future grand-babies seeing you kick a footy.
Planting in the garden.
Hiking your favourite track.
Telling them your favourite childhood memories.

Your one small deed today could be joining this incredible community.
It could be that one positive action that brings you closer to the person you wish to become.

With love,
Amy
